Lightscape
Introducing...
Lightscape is a free Kontakt virtual instrument I made as part of a university assignment. Its has a focus on detailed, cinematic and unique textural sounds
What Exactly is Lightscape?
Lightscape revolves around the combination of three different bowed cymbal sets and three different soundscapes. It comes with 10 unique snapshots to explore.

Each set is made up of 2 different cymbals, and, the three sets are ordered by the size of the cymbals itself.
Set 1 features large sized rides whereas Set 3 has small hi-hats. Set 2 sits in the middle with mainly crash cymbals. This means that each Cymbal Set sounds unique and gives you plenty of options to blend with the soundscapes or to just use on its own.
Every sound (apart from the soundscapes) has 2 velocity layers which was recorded with a lightly bowed cymbal and a more aggressively bowed cymbal. A lighter/harsher press of the key will trigger the one you want.
The soundscapes are three different textures which act as a support for the bowed cymbals, however, they can easily be used on their own.
Instrument UI

Lightscapes' UI has been custom made and is really easy to use.
The top row buttons allow you to switch between different soundscapes and cymbal sets (with keyswitches set for C -2 to A -2 keys on a MIDI keyboard to more easily switch between them). You can also have all sets and soundscapes active at any time, so a variety of combinations is encouraged.
Both the Cymbal and Soundscape sections include their own ADSR controls to shape the rise and fall of the sound. There are also reverb and delay controls in the centre of the UI.
please note that you will need the full version of Kontakt to use Lightscape
