ABOUT
Hi there! I'm Jake, an English games composer and musician currently based in Bath.
Atmosphere and story are vital components to the music I create.

I believe that there is a tale to tell with all forms of music, and I aim to guide the listener along through that journey. With my own compositions, I often use stories and visuals to shape the soundscape and feel for each track. Whilst the actual narrative might not be told outright, its effect on constructing sonic atmosphere would not be the same without it.

Naturally, my approach to making music (alongside my love for games) made the path to composing for games an obvious choice for me.

Sonically, my compositions lean towards immersive ambient atmospheres with inspirations ranging from bands and artists like Hammock, Elder, Caspian and Dvne to composers such as Sarah Schachner, Jesper Kyd and Murray Gold.

Whilst the personal music I create is usually in the ambient, post-rock and metal realm, I am very open to composing any kind of music. No matter the style, I aim to bring across those ideas of telling story through music, immersing the listener in a way that enhances their experience.

Outside of composing music, I have gained a following throughout the post-rock community from my promotional account Post-Rock Central which specialises in sharing new music from the world of post-rock through posts and playlist features.
